How to Play

Play Pixel Tower Battle online for free. Pixel Tower Battle is a retro-themed archery battle game. Shoot arrows at the enemies in the tower while avoiding their shots. Kill all the enemies in the other tower to win. Play through all 15 challenging stages. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.
Select Options to edit the game’s settings:
- Select the music and sound effects switches to turn these on and off.
- Select Reset Progress to start the game from the beginning.
- Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.

  - Desktop
    - With your keyboard:
      - Use the W key or the up arrow key to move up.
      - Use the S key or the down arrow key to move down.
      - Use the J key to fire an arrow at your foe.
      - Touchscreen devices
        
        With your fingers:
        
        Tap on the up arrow button to move up.
        
        Tap on the down arrow button to move down.
        
        Tap on the arrow button to shoot at your foe.
        
        Controls and indicators
        
        The level number appears on the top center.
        
        On the top right corner are the following controls:
        
        The home button lets you quit and exit to the welcome screen.
        
        The reset button starts the level from the beginning.
        
        The game’s touchscreen controls only appear when you are on a touchscreen device:
        
        The up and down arrow buttons appear on the left side of the screen
        
        The arrow button used for shooting appears on the bottom right corner.
        
        Game Play
        
        Levels
        
        Levels are unlocked in sequence:
        
        Only the first level is playable at the start of the game.
        
        Finish one level to unlock the next.
        
        There are 15 levels in this game.
        
        You can replay any of the levels you’ve unlocked.
        
        Basic rules
        
        Defeat all the enemy soldiers in the other tower.
        
        Fire arrows at enemies until they perish.
        
        After you change which floor you are on, you have a short delay before you can shoot an arrow.
        
        You also have a delay between arrow shots. The arrow meter is underneath your power meter.
        
        In later levels, larger enemies appear. They take more arrows to kill & fire stronger projectiles.
        
        Avoid shots from enemies.
        
        You have a limited number of hit points as indicated by the yellow bar above you.
        
        Some of the later enemies like the stone throwers and the sword throwers kill you with a single hit.
        
        Enemies shoot in intervals. Move to the same level as an enemy before they shoot, then duck before they shoot back.
        
        Keep moving back and forth to avoid fire.
        
        Enemy catalog
        
        Teal archer – fires one arrow at a time which takes about 1/3 of your health. Takes 4 hits to defeat. You can often sneak in 2 shots in a row before moving.
        
        Orange archer – fires one arrow at a time which takes about 60% of your health. Takes 5 hits to defeat. Fires a bit quicker than the teal archer. You can still get 2 shots in before moving, though the clearance is tighter.
        
        Green – shoots quickly & weakly. Takes 3 hits to destroy it & it takes about 30% of your health when it hits you. You can typically only take one shot before requiring moving.
        
        Axe thrower – sometimes throws one ax & other times throws a second ax right after the first one, with the pattern going back and forth. Takes 4 or 5 hits to destroy & each time it hits you it eats about 75% of your health. On the off shots with only one ax thrown you can sometimes hit twice, but usually it is best to only hit one at a time.
        
        Boomerang – the boomerang can hit you on the way out, on the way back, or both. You can shoot twice if you take your first shot right after the boomerang passes you.
        
        Rock thrower – the rock thrower takes 6 hits to destroy. It throws a single rock at a time & can throw across platforms up or down. It can one hit defeat you.
        
        Knight – you can only hit the knight by having your arrow run into it right around the time it is shooting at you, otherwise your own arrow will bounce back at you. The knight takes 4 hits to defeat & can one hit you with his throwing swords.
        
        Tips & strategies
        
        To give yourself a reprieve, it’s important to kill off a lower-ranking enemy early on.
        
        This gives you a place where you don’t have an enemy shooting at you.
        
        This becomes especially important in later levels where stronger enemies are common.
        
        If all of the enemies are fairly strong on a level take out rock throwing enemies early, as they can throw at an angle and hit you even if you are on a different vertical plane.
        
        When fighting rock throwers it can be helpful to stand on a different vertical plan than them for them to throw the rock at and then try to hit them once or twice before changing vertical planes once more.
        
        Fight one enemy at a time until you beat them.
        
        Fighting multiple enemies will have you mixing different movement cadence & lead to you likely getting hit.
        
        Right as you destroy an enemy they can fire one last shot, so watch out for that!
        
        Fighting knights
        
        The knights hold a reflective shield in front of them which is only removed when they fire upon you.
        
        Target Audience
        
        The game is suited for players who like tower shooting games.
        
        The game has no adult themed content.
